The Reiki Master’s Journey

reiki master journey

I've just returned from facilitating the Reiki Master Course Retreat in Seaford with such a joyful heart. There's always a common theme for each group which usually becomes apparent during the sharing of our personal journeys on Day 1.

This happened to be a beautiful group of just women, most of whom were seeking respite from their busy lives and a place to safely remove the heavy cloak of worldly roles they were carrying. Some came with burdened hearts due to recent challenges or sad losses, in order to be held by the group as they healed the unseen parts of themselves.

Students can sometimes arrive filled with self-doubt but they always leave changed in some way. The first couple of days saw a beautiful releasing of emotions which then made way for their divine inner child to come out to play. Laughing is so incredibly healing and there were times when we laughed so much our tummies hurt and our eyes watered. 😅  We all mentioned how we hardly ever laugh this way anymore.

I loved the authenticity of this group and how they could almost instantly self-reflect and recalibrate once they identified what was coming up for them.

I learnt so much from these women. I watched as one amazing woman set a commitment to do her Qi Gong practice every morning of the retreat. Each day, she admitted that she had reluctantly faced the challenge of getting herself up at 6.30am but each day she committed to keeping her promise to herself and unintentionally added another dimension to our retreat as some of us joined her in her uplifting practice.

Another student overcame her thoughts of overwhelm on the first night by soothing herself and surrendering to the moment. She was able to be with us in a powerfully joyful way that affected everyone in the group.

There were so many transformations on this retreat which epitomised the reiki master journey, including one wonderful student making peace with the loss of a loved one and another seeing a new phase of her life from a more welcoming perspective.

For me, this is what the reiki master journey is truly about. It isn't about being better than another, it's about the capacity to self-reflect, find a point of compassion and shift if needed. It's also about learning to face the unloved parts of ourselves as we embrace life's challenges from a more empowering perspective. In this way, we can become more of who we are and this will naturally inspire those around us, as they too inspire us. We are forever students with Reiki as there is always something new waiting to be revealed.

I am deeply grateful to all the divine women who joined me - Thank you 🙏🏽

With love and light
