Feminine and Masculine Energy

how to balance feminine and masculine energy

One of the three fascinating topics we talked about at my recent workshops '3 barriers to love...' is our feminine and masculine energy - A big thank you if you joined me

We all have both energies within us and this energy isn't related to our gender or to sexual preferences but, it plays a huge role in determining who we attract and how we behave within a relationship.

This is a deep and vast topic but it was great to be able to give those on the workshop a simple exercise to find out their core dominant energy, as we delved a little into the causes and outcomes of certain energetic combinations.

Both energies have a divine aspect and a wounded aspect to them, which shows up in how we act, attract and interplay with each other.

DIVINE MASCULINE
The key aspects of the divine masculine are to protect, to give and provide. Other traits include being grounded, purpose driven, logical and taking action. When working in IT Finance I was definitely more in my masculine energy. It was pretty much a requirement in order to navigate that world successfully.

WOUNDED MASCULINE
Wounded masculine traits are emotionally unavailable, controlling, aggressive, avoidant, selfish, destructive behaviours (sex, gambling, addictions etc) and overly competitive. Again keep in mind this is not gender related. Women can also be in their wounded masculine.

DIVINE FEMININE
The divine masculine perfectly complements the divine feminine aspects of receiving, healing, spirituality, being intuitive, calming, being in flow, being loving, affectionate and safely vulnerable.

WOUNDED FEMININE
Traits of the wounded feminine are being over-emotional, complaining, gossiping, insecure, 'poor me' mentality, people pleasing, co-dependency, feeling powerless and lacking boundaries. I can definitely move into my wounded feminine when I feel insecure or occasionally people-please.

Once again, men can also have aspects of the wounded or divine feminine.

You can see why the wounded feminine and wounded masculine would attract each other, resulting in triggering, problematic, unhealthy relationships.

So we can hold a mix of energies both wounded and divine dependent upon our past experiences, past trauma, spiritual advancement or current situation. We can also shift energies (or don a mask) to suit circumstances i.e. a woman can be predominantly in her masculine at work and then fall into her core feminine at home with her core divine masculine partner.

It's a fascinating interplay of energies that highlights masculine and feminine polarity as either triggers or harmony. There's so much to explore and understand here.

We will always see our wounded and divine aspects reflected back to us in our relationships with others not just with our lovers but in the friends, family and co-workers that appear in our lives and it totally explains the destructive relationship cycles some of us have entered into in the past.
