Family Healing With Reiki
Two years ago my lovely neighbour of 15 years had her first reiki healing session with me. When I asked Anita why she had waited so long, she said she was worried because if I wasn't very good, she would be so embarrassed!
At the time she was 36 years old and was suffering from rheumatoid arthritis (RA), anxiety, psoriasis and she had been unable to work for 5 years due to the pain.
Anita was so pleased with the improvements she experienced after her first treatment that both she and her mother decided to learn reiki with me. They did Reiki levels 1 and 2 and began regularly giving Reiki to each other, to her dad and their cats! They loved the effects of reiki so much that they did a couple of my reiki workshops and both completed the Reiki Master level in June this year.
This week Anita surprised me with some vegan choccies and a beautiful card which she was happy for me to share with you. It reads...
"since I started my Reiki healing journey my life has drastically changed for the better but since the Reiki Master Retreat, it has ramped up by a million!
Thanks to you, the psoriasis is now manageable without steroids or other medication. The Rheumatologist said the arthritis is the best she has ever seen after treating me for the last 15 years. I now only have painkillers for severe flare-ups (about twice a month, rather than twice a day).
Lastly, I've got a full-time job in HR! I only need to go into the office twice a week so I work 3 days from home. It's with an Arthritis charity so they are very supportive”
Anita later told me this was the first and only job she had applied for! She underlined the word 'the' before 'arthritis' and 'psoriasis' because previously when talking about the conditions she would say 'my arthritis' or 'my psoriasis', which I discouraged her from doing so she could detach from them more easily and no longer keep them alive.
Anita and her parents also regularly join the monthly reiki shares. Her mum, who works as a breavement counsellor, feels calmer and no longer takes her work home. Her dad loves being around the reiki energy and has seen improvement in his health.
It's incredible to see how the gift of Reiki has literally transformed the lives of her whole family, including her pets! It just takes one person...
