5 Quick Tips to Calm Anxiety
Anxiety is something so many of us experience, which is why I talk about it so often. What's interesting is that anxiety can show up even when we’re doing all the “right” things to take care of ourselves.
One of the things I hear most often is, “I meditate, I breathe, I try to stay positive… and yet anxiety still catches me off guard.”
While daily practices like meditation, breathwork and mindset work are incredibly powerful, there are still moments when anxiety rises unexpectedly.
It can happen at work, in conversation or we can wake up anxious for no apparent reason.
In those moments, what helps most are simple tools we can use right there and then, without drawing attention to ourselves or needing the perfect conditions.
That’s why I’ve just shared a new YouTube video where I show you five quick, discreet ways to calm anxiety in the moment.
The practices include simple ways to bring your mind and body back into balance as you softly soothe your anxious thoughts rather than fighting them.
You don’t need to “fix” yourself or make the anxiety disappear - just meet yourself with compassion and give your nervous system a sense of safety.
Anxiety isn’t a sign that we’re failing or doing something wrong. Often, it’s simply our system asking for reassurance, presence and compassion.
Over time, as you practise any of the go-to five tips, anxiety appears less often, not because you’ve forced it away but because you’ve learned how to support yourself through it.
