Segment Intending

Four analogue clocks lined up horizontally. From left to right, they display the times 9:47, 4:47, 6:47 and 12:47.

Segment intending is an incredible Law of Attraction tool. It reminds us that we can set our intentions, not just for the day ahead but for each section of our day.

Each segment is like stepping into a different scene in a movie. Each scene holds different energy which we can choose to simply walk into and see what happens or we can set an intention for how that scene will go or more importantly how we want to feel at the end of the scene, leaving the 'hows' to the Universe.

Typically when we wake up this is our first segment and we might meditate, feel gratitude and set a general intention for the day.

However, when we get out of bed, go to work, have lunch, go to a meeting and perhaps meet a friend in the evening, these are all different segments of our day and the energy will be different for each segment.

The point isn't to set intentions all day long but to know that if you're worried about an upcoming meeting, phone call or gathering, you can set your intention and affect the outcome before it occurs. It also gives you an opportunity to shift the energy if the previous segment didn’t go well.

Segment Intending Examples

  • 'I intend to have a great meeting with my manager where we both leave feeling understood and like we've made good progress.'

  • 'I intend to have an easy journey to work. All the traffic lights are green and I actually get to work early!'

  • ‘I intend to have a lovely time with Emma this evening. The food is delicious and the staff are really friendly.’

It's a super simple process but it works really well so let me know if you decide to try it out. 💖
