Masking Self-Doubt
Many of us get to a point in our careers where we realise we want to be of service to others, not in a way that depletes us but in a way that empowers us and those we serve.
Some feed this innate desire by taking holistic course after course, expecting that after this last one, they will take action, but instead... they join another course.
I spent 30 years working in various jobs and my healing journey has led me to several holistic courses, gathering credentials along the way, so I completely understand this mindset.
When clients finally reach out to me, there can be a sense of regret and possibly guilt for not starting their business sooner but we need to remember that our path always has a divine purpose.
YOUR PREPARTION
It's beneficial to see your career and training as preparation. Everything you've gathered, every skill and interaction, will eventually be put to good use in your new holistic business. Nothing will be wasted.
When I look back, I can see how my path led me to create My Spiritual Butterfly 11 years ago.
Through my corporate career, I gained skills that I regularly use in my business - communication, customer service, budgeting, project management, people management, marketing, etc
Anything I didn't know, I've either learned or delegated. The knowledge I've gained from each healing course is woven into my coaching and Reiki teachings.
My path has allowed me to serve my clients in a higher way and it will be the same for you.
NORMALISING HAVING A BUSINESS
Society has deeply programmed us to be 'workers' - to solely rely on a job for our income, work hard from 9am to 5pm, have 4 weeks' holiday a year (even less in the US) and suppress our ideas or strong opinions.
We're led to believe that owning a business is not only hard... it's rare but having a business is actually very common!
THE LANDSCAPE HAS CHANGED
People are increasingly choosing to become entrepreneurs, now more than ever. Those who used to control certain industries are being bypassed and people from all backgrounds are able to successfully fulfil their dreams.
This can come through platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Amazon Self-Publishing, Substack, pop-up shops and meal delivery, as well as online courses, to name but a few.
There are so many ways to share your gifts and the best thing is, the ability to serve people online means your clients are no longer local, they're global! 🎉
WHAT'S MOTIVATING YOU?
So if you find yourself stuck in 'course gathering' mode, ask yourself if this is due to a genuine desire to learn more or is it a way of masking your self-doubt.
If it's self-doubt, remember everything is currently in your favour. People need to hear your story and have access to your offerings, particularly now.
