How To Find Love And Let It In

Closeup of a bronze envelope sealed with a red heart shape and 3D letters spelling Love

I had a lovely conversation with a remarkable woman in the Heal Your Heart and Thrive Facebook group, about her desire to find love. She has spent many years healing and building self-love and she finally feels ready to meet The One.

We definitely need to work on ourselves if we've not been attracting the right people in the past but the work isn't necessarily to heal all of our wounds and shadow aspects but it's actually to love all parts of ourselves including the 'wounded' parts.

If there are aspects of ourselves that we really don't like or love then this will be reflected back to us by the people we meet. The magical thing is, when we accept these aspects, they naturally transform.

It's an impossible quest to want to completely heal every part of ourselves before we accept the love that is trying to come to us...and it's always trying to come to us. Any path that may lead to love, such as a lingering glance shared in the coffee shop queue, can be missed as it gets filtered out by our subconscious mind because it isn't a match to our current beliefs about ourselves or about relationships.

Waiting for complete healing to occur only results in further delays in meeting 'the one' and avoidance of possible relationships because deep down, we don't consider ourselves ready or worthy enough to be loved in the way we desire.

There are no guarantees with love but this isn't a good enough reason for us to fearfully remain on the sidelines and not take part in the 'game of life'. We miss out on so much growth and learning.

Building our self-love, getting clear on what we want and defining our core values will help us to trust that we will make the right decisions should any red flags emerge. Our deepening love for ourselves will ensure that we don't cling to destructive relationships or become desperate for a new one.

A helpful love affirmation

If you feel ready to bring love in, then connect to your heart and affirm the following:

I declare that I love and accept all aspects of myself.

I am now ready to let more and more love into my life.

I am now choosing a happy, fulfilling love relationship.

I now let go and trust in Divine timing.
