Anxiety Tips

You may have already heard of the Indian energy system called chakras, which are major energy points around the body. Each chakra governs certain emotions, organs and glands. We also are said to have 14 major meridian lines which are like a network of veins transporting energy around the body. Meridians are typically used by modalities such as acupuncture and acupressure as a way to short circuit energy or increase its flow.
If you find yourself becoming a little stressed or anxious, here is a simple energy-based method to help you quickly calm your mind.
There's a particular meridian line called the Triple Warmer which runs from the forehead, around the ear, down the side of the neck, across the shoulder and down the arm to the tip of the ring finger. This meridian has many functions but is closely linked to fear and grief.

If you're feeling anxious, it is really effective to calm the triple warmer meridian by tracing it backwards from the forehead to the tip of the ring finger.
Interestingly, with Reiki, we start and end a reiki session using a dry bathing technique to ground and centre ourselves which involves brushing down the arm from the shoulder to the hand.
