How To Cope with Seasonal Affective Disorder

Updated: Jan 31, 2021

seasonal affective disorder

As we move into Autumn and the colours of nature start to change, I'm aware that some of you are probably not looking forward to the shorter and longer nights but try to see the blessing in the seasons if you can and be sure to get help in advance if you think you might need it.

Of course, I'm not a doctor but some things you may want to look into include:

  1. Vitamin D3 with K2, Vitamin B complex, amino acids, Multivitamin and Minerals

  2. Using a Light Box.

  3. Eating lots of vegetables and reducing processed foods.

  4. Taking Probiotics and Prebiotics

  5. Exercising Regularly

  6. Exposing your eyes to daylight early in the morning.

  7. Avoiding bright lights between 11pm and 4am.

  8. Being outside regularly and being in nature.

  9. Socialising with friends regularly.

  10. Daily Meditation or Yoga Nidra.

  11. Regular Energy Healing such as Reiki

To support you in a small way, I've created 50 Daily Affirmations for health, love, career, wealth and life to help you shift your mindset in all of these areas.

An affirmation is a positive statement of truth said about yourself, in the present tense, as if it's already happened. The key is to say it with the emotion you would feel if it were true and to do this daily so it becomes a habit that your subconscious mind eventually stops resisting and accepts as a new belief.

It's said that after approximately 40 days of repeating an affirmation, things will begin to change in your life. I've also included space for you to create 10 affirmations of your own which you can print and place where you can see them daily.
